JerkyFlea: July 2000

Author: JerkyFlea

Name That Celebrity!

One truly amazing thing about the huge delay between columns is that it took I didn't get my 10th correct guess until  June 12th, over two months after the column went up.  It's about time I finally nailed an impossible celebrity picture!  So for everyone that couldn't get #1 they were

Mystery Celebrity #1: DEMI MOORE

Mystery Celebrity #2: ANDIE MacDOWELL

The most popular wrong guesses for #1 were Michelle Pfeiffer (far and way the leader of the wrong guesses), Faye Dunaway, Gillian Andersen, Rene Russo, Angie Everhart, Catherin Deneurve and Melanie Griffith to name a few.  And I had one person guess #1 correctly and miss #2, who EVERYONE got.  And I thought the second pic wasn't that easy.  Ah well.

Anyway, the winner was...

Jessica Byrne!

Way to go Jessica.  The next 10 correct guessers (I'm listing them all since I only got 11 correct answers total) in order were Alan Shenker, ayeen, Mireya, Miss Maureen, Michael Wood, Randy Vernon, Rowena, Vanessa Sealy, Jessie Wehrle and Mindy Sackett

vvv

On to this month's contest.  As usual, I give you either a picture of a celebrity from early in their life or career with some completely different look or I disguise a current picture.  You then have to tell me who the celebrity in question is.  Simple enough?  Of course.

Couple of fairly easy ones this month, though #2 may be a bit of a challenge...

Who are the celebrities pictured in the two photos below?

Mystery Celebrity #1:

Mystery Celebrity #2:

No hints again this time.  Hey, it worked for me last time, so why mess with a good thing?.

As usual, THE FIRST PERSON to send me the correct answer for BOTH gets a hearty virtual handshake and pat on the back...and their name featured in the next column.  The next nine just get their name in the column.  Sure, it's a subtle difference, but those yellow letters don't come cheap.  Good Luck!

Did Ya Know?

A short one this month on TIA CARRERE.   If you remember a few years back (around 1995 to be exact), Tia chopped off her trademark cascading brunette locks for a short cut with blonde highlights.  The question of why she did it is, on the surface, pretty straightforward, in that it was for her role in the movie "Hollow Point" in which she portrayed and FBI agent.  The short 'do was to add realism to the character.

So why report on it, you ask, since that happens all the time?  Because what makes it interesting is that it was Tia's idea.  Completely Tia's idea.  And she did it the night before the first day of shooting.  And didn't TELL anyone she was going to do it.  Not the producer, director, make-up folks, anyone.

She was heading home the night before the shoot and suddenly felt that, as an FBI agent, she shouldn't have such a glamorous flowing mane.  So, she stopped at the salon that evening and had the stylist snip her hair into a short conservative 'do.  Needless to say, the film crew was rather surprised the next day.

I'm just glad it wasn't a permanent change since I like that top picture MUCH better. =)

As usual,

JerkyFlea
