Term: Porous

This defines how well the hair absorbs color and moisture. In some cases, extremely porous hair absorbs color like a sponge. Hair that is porous absorbs hair color much faster than hair that is not porous. Porous hair may reject warm tones. It also will tangle easily, be more prone to breakage and may develop a spongey feel. It may also be excessively dry.
