Term
Alpha Hydroxy Acid - AHA

Definition
Natural ingredients and substances which are derived from a base of fruits, sugar and other plants. Known as AHA, they help to greatly minimize the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. They also work to reduce superficial blackheads through the sloughing off of any dead cells located on the upper dermis. AHA's effectively break down the glues that connect or hold the dead skin cells together. This encourages natural exfoliation. It results in fresher, smoother skin tone. AHAs are normally found in skin care products but in some cases may be used on the scalp.
