101 Secrets to Winning Beauty Pageants

101 Secrets to Winning Beauty Pageants

by Ann-Marie Bivans

Back in high school I had a male friend who insisted that blondes rarely won beauty contests. Being blonde since birth, I used to get pretty annoyed with his comments. To make matters worse, my friend was a fanatic redhead lover.

When I say Ann-Marie's book on Winning Contests, I could not resist it.  You guessed it....I went right to the hair section. This book is fascinating. If you are serious about winning beauty contests, this book has all the secrets. I was impressed with all the information on hair styles and statistics involving the right hair look to win.

I was amazed to learn that there are 7 basic hairstyles that win the most beauty contests. I also learned that long and glamorous hair is the biggest winner in the Miss USA and Miss Universe contests. As a long haired fan, this was great news. Below the shoulder hair doesn't win for Miss America or Miss Teen USA because longer hair is considered too sexy. What an interesting fact indeed.

The best part about the hair section in this book is the information on hair color. So Tom Brennan, wherever you are, according to Ann-Marie, no specific color hair has won more beauty contests than any other. There is a historical equal percentage of blondes, brunettes and other hair colors.

This is a great book if you are serious about what it takes to win a beauty pageant. There are secrets about everything from the right hair style for each pageant to the best colors, best gowns, best exercises for developing the appropriate body look and the interview suits. I enjoyed the book even though I would never be willing to do all the hard work it takes. I must admit I have developed a new respect for those gorgeous winners. I realize now that they had to work like crazy to get to the top.
