This little (126 pages) paperback book has some good basic hair care tips. It also includes some different styling options. Sallie offers instructions on french braids and rolls, upsweeps, pin curls, chignons, twists, casual curls and the fishtail braid. She also talks about perms, styling options, coloring and weaves for women of color.

There is a little of everything related to hair in this book. I liked most of the book although I was disappointed that there was limited information on long hair. This is the norm in the hair book industry though, so it is expected.

No one can go wrong with this book. It gives good tips on shampooing, finding the right hairstylist, finding the right style for you, color and curls and some good helpful hints.

I recommend this book. It is a nice little source of tips and techniques and ideas for your hair. The 50+ photos are all in black and white but are well done.
