Forever Beautiful With Rex : Beauty Strategies for the Rest of Your
Life
by Diana Lewis Jewell, Rex (Illustrator)
If you loved Rex's first book titled Making Up you will love this book.
This is truly a book for baby boomers who are about to experience their first trip down
plastic surgery lane. Not only does Rex give tips on makeup for facelifts, he gives
several stages of makeup for post surgical periods. These include the Post Op period, the
early makeup, the mid makeup and the late makeup.
Rex also gives advice on how to choose a plastic surgeon. He gives great
tips for makeup to enhance aging for women in their 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. Rex breaks
women into hair and skin categories. He has the fair hair/fair skin category, the gray
hair/pale skin, salt & pepper hair/dark skin, red hair/pale skin and black hair with
sallow skin.
We all know that my interest is basically hair. Therefore I was
concerned about how Rex handled hair in this book. He does a good job. It is incorporated
into the total beauty principle. That is always refreshing since some books about beauty
focus only on the makeup part and this seems to miss a big point.
The book has beautiful full-color illustrations and photographs of
real-life models. The book really does stress the fact that every age has its own unique
beauty.
