This 100 page book is somewhat rare because it couples astrological
indicators with makeup. Linda Mason is a makeup artist who noticed striking physical
similarities in woman with similar astrological signs. After some study and comparison
Linda devised her own color scheme for each of the 12 astrological signs. If you have read
some of my other reviews you know that I have been studying astrology for many years.
Therefore this book has been one of my cherished possessions since it was published back
in 1985.
One of the great things that Linda presents in this book is her
perception of what makes the best models according to Sun sign. She gives a great example
of the true feminine sign of Cancer and refers to that famous model Jerry Hall (Mrs. Mick
Jagger).
Linda includes almost no information on hair styles, except as part of
the big picture. However, I found this book fascinating. I still do when I flip through it
from time to time. There are tons of great photos and illustrations. You will find the
famous mixed in with the unknown. Paloma Picasso and Joan Crawford are included along with
Claudia Cardinale, Audrey Hepburn, Andie macDowell, Anouk Aimee,Cher, Joan Collins, Meryl
Streep, Jerry Hall, Isabelle Adjani, Jacqueline Onassis, Loni Anderson, Iman, Jacqueline
Bisset, Greta Garbo, Raquel Welch and Sophia Loren to name just a few.
If you love makeup AND astrology you must purchase this book. If you
like looking at beautifully made up women and photos of celebrities this book is an
absolute must.
I have only seen this book once or twice over the years, so I guard my
only copy with my life. I love the great tips that Linda provides for Cancer and Scorpio
(my two major astrological signs).
