Folk Remedies That Work

Folk Remedies That Work

by Lydia Wilen, Joan Live and Be Well Wilen

This little gem of a book first caught my eye with the promise of helping me lose weight safely. Authors Joan and Lydia Wilen have some very interesting folk remedies that they recommend for safe and successful dieting. Joan and Lydia have tested all of their remedies for safety and successful results.

After reading the dieting section, I started digging further in this 300 page book and found some fascinating hair remedies. I checked out the gray hair prevention remedy and thought it was noteworthy. The Chinese hair growing information caught my eye. In no time I had chunks of ginger assembled for the recipe. I noticed a nice tingling after the treatment.

If growing hair the Chinese way is not cool enough, the Wilens also offer you recipes for making your own natural hair setting lotion and hair spray. They also have an informative section on preventing hair loss with easy to follow instructions.

While this book is not specifically about hair care, it has lots of great hair care and growing information. Once you get your hair in shape you can browse through the rest of the book and learn how to get a better night's sleep, ease the pain of arthritis, and according to the book cover, even improve your sex life.

What more could you ask for... better hair and sex, all in one little paperback.

I enjoyed this book. It will live in my reference section for years to come.
