Aeriel Miranda Curly Hair How To In Nine Lives Of Chloe King

Aeriel Miranda Hair How To In Nine Lives Of Chloe King

Aeriel Miranda plays Lana, Chloe King's boss at the clothing boutique on the new ABC Family hit, The Nine Lives Of Chloe King.

Not only is she Lana's boss, she keeps an eye on Chloe to make sure she's okay.   In a recent episode (in Season One) Lana fired Chloe for always being late, but she rehired her when Chloe saved her life.

Aeriel is a relatively newcomer to the acting game and is not even currently listed as a regular on the Chloe King listings.   Hopefully she will get more air time in the future.

Aeriel Miranda's Curly Hair How To

Aeriel's base hair color is a rich medium chocolate brown with lighter chocolate on the ends and deeper chocolate at the roots.  Although she has been photographed with her below-the-shoulder length tresses bone straight, on Chloe King she rocks a big picked out curled Afro hairstyle.

Her hair has a very tight curl pattern, but appears to be fine or medium in thickness.  Although it's hard to guess without seeing her hair, Aeriel probably has a Type 4 curl pattern.

Aeriel's hair is precision cut to enhance the individual curl patterns throughout her head which accounts for the beautiful curl profile her hair naturally falls into.   For Nine Lives she wears her hair big and full of bouncy curls cascading out from a center part.  This gives her hair the look of lush texture.

Aeriel has a combination oval and rectangular face shape which looks great with her natural hairstyle.

Step By Step Instructions On How To Copy Aeriel's Hairstyle

Although Aeriel doesn't wear a fringe it's because her tightly curled tresses aren't well-suited for bangs.   Although she wears her hair off a center part, a side part is doable, but probably not as well suited for the hairstyle.

Follow the steps below to copy Aeriel's beautiful natural Afro style hairstyle:

Pre-Wash

Start by detangling hair with fingers or a wide tooth comb to remove knots, snarls and tangle.  If hair is fragile it might be advisable to pre-oil the hair with a extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) or jojoba oil.

Cleanse

Wash hair in lukewarm water with the shampoo product designed for your hair type, texture and condition. If you wish, utilize your unique washing program ranging from full shampoo to Diluted Shampoo (DS), low poo, Conditioner Only Wash (CO Wash), no poo or water only.

Note: If you have a tight natural curl like Aeriel, it would likely be best to use either a highly diluted moisturizing shampoo or do a conditioning only wash (CO Wash).

Rinse out shampoo (if used) and then apply a rinse out conditioner from the tops of the ears down to the ends and detangle with a wide tooth comb or fingers. Rinse well and then finish with a cool or cold water rinse. Towel blot (don't rub) to remove excess moisture.   If the hair is washed with a Conditioner Only Wash (CO Wash) then detangle at the end of the cleansing cycle.

Post-Wash

Apply your designed styling cocktail into your hair working through with fingers or a wide tooth comb. Cocktail might consist of, but not be limited to, leave-in conditioner, defristant, styling mousse, volumizing spray for roots or similar.  Since naturally curly hair is dry and fragile, be sure to use moisturizing products.

Dry

Separate hair into 8-10 individual sections.  Use a long finger diffuser working through individual sections at a time and allowing the strands to rest in the basin of the diffuser. After each section is dry, roll into a spiral or ringlet curl with your fingers and pin against your scalp to set.

Style

Unpin all sections of dry hair.  Touch up any uneven sections with a curling iron.  Bend over at the waist and gently shake out curls.  Arrange with fingers.  Apply 1-2 drops of shine serum into the palms of your hands.  Avoid pulling any curl clumps apart with fingers or else frizz will form.   Do not brush.
