2010 Best Supporting Actor Winner Christoph Waltz's Speech

The winner of the 2010 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor goes to Christoph Waltz for "Inglourious Basterds!"

This was the first Academy nomination and the first award for Christoph.  He walked onto the stage and said "Oscar and Penelope Cruz, that's a babinco."

He said "I always wanted to discover some new continent and I thought I had to go this way (he pointed down) and I was introduced to Quentin Tarantino who was putting together an exposition that was equipped by Harvey Weinstein and Lawrence Van Damn and David Linden.  And he put this script in front of me and he said 'this is where we're going.  But we're going the other way.'

He continued "so Brad Pitt helped me on board and Diane Kruger was there and Melanie Laurent, Denis Menochet...he named others... everybody helped me find a place.  Universal and the Weinstein Company and ICM.  And Quentin with his unorthodox methods of navigation and his fearless exploring took this ship across and brought it in with flying colors and that's why I'm here."

He cradled the statue "and this is your welcoming embrace and there's no way I can ever thank you enough.  But I can start now.  Thank you."

The Austrian actor has swept every major film award this year including the Oscar. In his acceptance speech he was graceful, articulate, and genuine.  It was a very eloquent and moving speech.

In Allure's 12/99 Makeover Of The Month the client went into the Hair salon as a blonde & came out a brunette minus 5 inches of hair. Beware...this can happen to anyone!
