The Green Beauty Industry's Wild West Has Found a New Sheriff

Despite the declines and closures in the struggling world of magazine media Celebrity Beauty Engineer ®, Mary Schook, and Boho Magazine, fashion and beauty's first green magazine, and the only publication to be printed on 100% post-consumer waste paper, have joined forces to shed some light on the booming organic and natural care industry.

Why is Boho choosing to discuss the Green Cosmetics Industry now? "Consumers who want to shop organic or green have become more sophisticated in their product choices and are being left to discern claims made by companies.

Consumers are still shaky on what all of these industry terms mean to them regarding the beauty products they are using" says Mary Schook, Boho's Beauty Director. According to FDA surveys, women have expressed that much of the product advertising and labeling is leading them down a winding path of confusion.

Consumers who want to shop organic or green have become more sophisticated in their product choices and are being left to discern claims made by companies. Consumers are still shaky on what all of these industry terms mean to them regarding the beauty products they are using.

Schook and Boho's magazine's Editor-in-Chief, Gina La Morte, agreed that this was a key time to initiate dialogue and instill some comforting facts about what's "natural" in this self-regulated industry. As consumer advocates, both Schook and La Morte are passionate about providing consumers with the right information and knowledge that can help the brands they work with regain consumer trust, addressing questions such as: Does natural really mean natural? Is natural really better? And, what is the true definition of organic when it comes to cosmetics?

Answers to these questions and much more can be found in the latest issue of Boho magazine, in their Beauty-full (TM) section. Boho's spring issue hits newstands Feb17th with cover model and A-list actress turned activist, Neve Campbell.
