Build a Leaner Body in Just 15 Minutes a Day?

Nationally Acclaimed Fitness Guru says small steps lead to big results

Anyone who's ever struggled with their weight dreams of having a firm, lean and healthy body. The last thing an overweight person wants to hear is another empty promise about a diet that boasts of dramatic weight loss at lightning speed.

And according to the Centers for Disease Control, more than 66% of adult Americans are overweight. While they may want to lose weight and feel healthier, most would point to hectic, time-challenged schedules as their biggest deterrent.

That's what motivated acclaimed fitness specialist and author Jaime Brenkus to write "Get Lean in 15: 15 Ways in 15 Days to Shape Up and Slim Down FAST!"

"The truth is, you don't have to spend countless hours in the gym every day to see results," says Brenkus. "I also want to dispel the myth that you have to go on a disruptive fad diet to lose weight and get lean."

Forget the fads-Brenkus, the fitness guru behind the 8 MINUTE ABS video phenomenon and supermodel Kathy Ireland's "Bodyspecifics" and "Reach" workout videos, relied on his years of experience in the fitness industry to identify the 15 key issues that lead to long-term weight loss and a healthier body.

Get Lean in 15 outlines those key issues and also takes a no-nonsense approach to the obstacles people face everyday when it comes to weight control.

"My plan works because it is realistic," says Brenkus. "To lose weight and build healthy, lean muscle you do have to exercise and eat right-anyone who tells you otherwise is lying to you." The difference between "Get Lean in 15" and other plans is the premise that just 15 minutes of exercise a day can lead to noticeable results in a short amount of time.

"You don't have to spend 2 hours running on a treadmill for exercise to be effective," says Brenkus. "I've designed a plan that will help you build muscle and burn calories with just 15 minutes of exercise a day." The workout moves outlined in the book are also accompanied by a photo section demonstrating the right form and technique for each exercise.

Get Lean in 15 also provides readers with a daily meal plan approved by a registered dietician. "By following the plan, some people have lost up to 8 pounds in those first 15 days," says Brenkus.

"I like to think of it as the 15 day challenge; see for yourself what kind of results you have in those first two weeks." While not everyone will lose 8 pounds that quickly, the goal of the eating plan is to fuel up and feel energized, not deprived.

Brenkus also serves up an array of interesting food-related tidbits, such as how to accurately gauge portion sizes when you're in a restaurant and the number of pounds you could lose each year by making some simple substitutions in your daily food selections.

Not your typical fitness book, "Get Lean in 15" focuses on the whole person; not just meal plans and exercise. Highly personable and engaging; Brenkus is sensitive to the reader's feelings and he tackles ‘bad days' or ‘slip ups' in a very positive and encouraging way.

He utilizes effective techniques for changing a negative mindset and diffusing any fallout from ‘slip-ups.' "I know there will be times when you'll stray from the plan," says Brenkus. "But eating a cheeseburger doesn't mean that you've failed and it's all over. Instead, you have to take small steps. One misstep doesn't mean that you've fallen off the path to leanness forever."

As a personal trainer, Brenkus heard first-hand from his clients how being overweight affects their emotional well-being as well as their physical health. Now, with Get Lean in 15, readers can benefit from the coaching of a personal trainer and start taking those 15 steps to a healthier, leaner body.
