Question
Slightly Receding Hairline
Dear Spencer,
I wrote to you about a month ago, and have not received any
response, so I figure it won't hurt to try again.
My questions were fairly similar to some of those you have posted already, but I
would just like some clarification.
I am experiencing a slightly receding hairline, with the accompanying thinning
around the temples.
I saw the several questions you answered to the effect of Propecia being successful
in preventing further hair loss from those areas, but I was wondering if the hair would
remain in it's current condition or if Propecia can be expected to "thicken" it
since the follicles are still alive.
Also, I am 20 years old and biracial (black and white), I was wondering if the odds
of propecia working would be affected at all by race. I hope to hear from you soon, thanks
for your time.
Travis
Answer
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner Travis.. I
receive hundreds of e-mails per week and sometimes it is difficult to get to all of them.
To answer your question, Propecia will in most cases thicken your existing hair and
perhaps regrow hair in the hair line. The first thing you will notice is an overall
thickening of existing hair.
Your ethnicity will play no role in your treatment.
Good luck,
Spencer
