Olive Oil - Fade Hair Colors?

Question

Dear Karen,

My hair feels just like cotton and it is freaking me out. What is even worse is that after I colored it last weekend my hair actually felt worse. I noticed that my hair felt really weird when it was wet. It actually felt slimy, if that makes sense. I don't abuse my hair although I do color it every 3 weeks and use a blow dryer with my curling iron. Do you think that I am doing something wrong to get this horrible feeling to my hair? Help please.

Thanks,

Shaney

Answer

Dear Shaney,

I consulted with two different stylists who told me that it was likely that your hair is suffering from too many chemicals coupled with hot styling tools. What to do? Give your hair a vacation from coloring, chemicals and hot blow dryers and styling tools.

I would personally recommend that you consult a hair color expert and make an appointment to have a full consultation to determine how to repair the damage.

I would also recommend that you invest in a superb moisture enhancing shampoo and conditioner. Deep conditioning treatments would help tremendously at this point.

Thanks for writing.

Best wishes,

Karen
