Jennifer Aniston's Perfect Hair?

Question

Dear Karen,

I am a 20 year old woman who just loves Jennifer Aniston's casual but sexy hair looks. I have adored her hair since the "Rachel" and now I love her short new do. I have heard that Jennifer has a stylist that works on her hair for the TV Show Friends and I wanted to get any scoops you could give me on that. Also, what do you know about Courteney Cox's hair? Sorry to be so star struck but I am a big fan.

Emme

PS. I just love the HairBoutique.com.  I think it is the best site for hair on the web.

Answer

Dear Emme,

Believe it or not rumor has it that Jennifer goes through periods where she gets sick and tired of dealing with her hair. Which in reality is what most of us go through from time to time. Jennifer ultimately let her "Rachel" grow out because she was tired of so many people copying her look. There is a famous story where someone stopped her on the street and asked her where she got her cut. Little did the person know that they were talking to the "original Rachel" in person.

Jennifer, as reports go, is very "hair conscious" and does care about looking great but she struggle to maintain her own style and individuality. The minute that Jennifer sports a new hairstyle the world hurries to copy. In many way Jennifer is a trendsetter in the world of hair. When she sported the Rachel it set off a major craze. When she was spotted last year with faux dreadlocks another hair trend became even hotter.

Now Jennifer is wearing her hair super short which in itself is very controversial. Although many people love the new look, just as many hate it. The ironic thing about Jennifer's new cut is that it is more controversial than politics or religion to some people.

Is there a reason that Jennifer has the hottest hair on Friends? Yes. The show's insiders report that brunette Jennifer has the best hair of anyone in the entire cast. The other cast members have "problem" hair that has to be tamed. Rumor has it that Courteney Cox is prematurely gray and requires constant upkeep of her roots. It is also reported that Lisa Kudrow has to have her naturally mousy brown hair highlighted to its sunny shades of blonde. It has been reported that Lisa also has hard to manage hair that requires a lot of time to tame.

Jennifer just has great hair. Don't be fooled though.  Jennifer works hard at having fabulous hair. A show's insider once reported that she uses five different treatments on her hair. Jennifer uses a pre-shampoo solution to condition her hair followed by an organic shampoo that gently cleanses her hair. The shampoo is followed by an organic conditioner, a leave-in conditioner and a special gel to shape and style her hair. No wonder her hair looks picture perfect.

Jennifer has had several stylists work with her hair. Chris McMillan in Los Angeles created the original "Rachel". Irish hairstylist John Barrett from Frederick Fekkai's salon in NYC's Bergdorf Goodman department store has also spent some time working with Jennifer's hair for the Friends show. John has also worked on all the other Friend's cast members.

The cast of Friends found John when they were in New York several years ago filming a special Saturday Night Live. John did their hair for the SNL show and they decided to use him for the Friends telecast.

Although Jennifer appeared to have a sudden growth spurt on the show last year, the added hair length was due to hair extensions. Jennifer was required to have the longer hair for a movie she was filming. Many speculate that the new super short cut is the result of having the extensions finally removed.

When she wore the Rachel Jennifer had chunky blonde highlights around her face. This trend has changed. Gone are the chunks replaced by lots of subtle highlights that give her hair a spectacular warm glow.

Whether Jennifer keeps her hair short or allows it to grow, you can bet that she will be setting new hair trends on a regular basis.

Best wishes,

Karen
