Introduction
Many salons offer free bang touch-up and trimming
services for their regular established customers.
Not only does it build customer loyalty, it provides
your hairdresser with the opportunity to tell you about
all the latest new styles and hair care products.
It also helps prevent customers from cutting their own
bangs and making a gigantic hair mess.
If you're unsure if you qualify for this service,
ask your hairdresser the next time your visit. Of
course not all hairdressers or salons offer this type of
service, but it never hurts to ask.
Even when the services are available to loyal
customers, many do not take advantage of the option.
Why? Mainly time constraints. Taking the
time to get to the salon for the service may be more of
a hassle for many people than actually taking the
scissors to their hair at home.
If you're one of those people with a jam packed schedule and
pesky overgrown bangs, you can benefit from learning to trim your
own fringe in the privacy of your bathroom.
Follow the steps below to trim your own pre-existing
bangs:
1. Never try and cut your bangs while your hair
is bone dry. Wet your hair with a spritz of water
from a clean spray bottle.
2. Use your fingers to separate out a small
section of hair (approximately 1/2 to 1" of hair) from
the rest of the fringe. Pull the section of hair down as
far down as possible. Clip the rest of the hair
out of the way so you can focus on one section at a tmie.
3. Twist the target section of fringe hair one time.
4. Trim the section just below your eyes.
Always cut about an inch longer than the line you may
eventuall
want. Bangs will naturally bounce up a bit.
If your fringe turns out to be too long, you can go back over it,
but always err on the side of too long rather than too short.
