James Caan stars as
Big Ed Deline, the head of the surveillance team for
the Montecito Resort & Casio. His protg is
Danny McCoy (Josh Duhamel). If the typical job
pressures of dealing with card counters, cheaters
and rival casinos weren't enough, Big Ed has to
contend with the fact that Danny was caught in bed
with his only daughter, Delinda (Molly Sims, MTV's
House of Style).

The

parlayed her talents into a gig as hostess of MTV's

Molly, who was born
in Kentucky, lets her personality dictate her style.
Her own personal style inspiration is Cameron Diaz
who Molly believes looks sexy whether in jeans or a
designer gown.
Steal Her Look
Molly,
like any other buys model, spokesperson and television star has to
contend with taking good care of her tresses. She has to make
sure that her strands do not fall victim to
fly-away frizz.

From her years in the modeling world,
Molly has access to a stable of celebrity hairdressers to
coif her to perfection for her red carpet strolls and movie
premieres. When she appeared on Allure's April 2003 issue, she
was coiffed by super stylist Serge Normant. The master hairdresser
gave Molly a version of late 60s bangs inspired by actress and
fashion muse Jane Birkin.
Sims
was quoted as saying that "she loved the retro style
so much that she asked Serge to redo the cut for her
several weeks after the April cover shoot.

Although Molly has
gone through a dizzying array of hairstyles over the
years that ranged from no bangs to full bangs to
side swept bangs, she tends to favor wearing her
honey golden tresses long and loose in an
alternating array from curls and waves to sleek and
straight. For a change of pace she likes to wear her
hair up in a soft twisted style for Red Carpet
appearances. Although her hue is usually a
rich honey, at times she appears to flirt with
darker strawberry blonde shades.
Back in 2002 and 2003
Molly adopted the popular hair in the face and long
bangs in the eyes style that were then very popular
with models.

She confessed in a
Cosmo interview that that style, although
"definitely a look to get" was "hard to wear".
She also confessed that she liked to keep changing
her look because it's always fun to try different
hairstyles. After all, "you only live once".
STEP 1
Molly's hair has been heavily highlighted
and colored for years. She also has
spent a lot of time posing in settings that
are focused on surf and sand. When she films
on the Las Vegas sets, her hair is subjected
to lots of temperature changes and very hot
lights. All of these environments tend to
make hair dry and prone to the fly-a-ways
and frizz.
To protect
bleached, blonde highlighted or colored
tresses, start by dousing hair completely with
lukewarm water. Keep in mind that hotter temperatures
will speed up fading and dry hair even
further.
Select a
super moisturizing shampoo formula like
Phytojoba or one designed for
colored hair like
Phytocitrus. For ultra dry or
super fragile
strands, use the dry hair formulas and
dilute the shampoo for extra gentleness.
Tips For Diluting Shampoo
To dilute
shampoo mix 1 part of your favorite product
in a freshly washed container with 8-10
parts of warm water. Shake until the
mixture forms a suds.
Drizzle the
suds over the top of your crown and pat into
wet strands. Gently drizzle some of
the sudsy formula down the length of your
strands. Pat carefully.
Apply only
one shampoo application. Rinse well
with lukewarm water.
If your hair
is very prone to extreme dryness or frizz,
consider adopting one of the Phyto Special
Treatment programs in for
dry hair or for
fighting frizz.
STEP 2
After
one application of shampoo, rinse well.
Keep in mind that if shampoo is not
completely removed, a soap film will remain
on your strands and cause them to be dull or
hard to manage.
When you have
finished rinsing your strands gently
squeeze out any excess water with your
fingers.
Apply your favorite rinse-out conditioning
product. Match the
product to your hair type,
texture and condition.

Work the
conditioner into the driest parts of your
hair. Leave on for up to five minutes.
Rinse well.
Finish with a cool to cold water rinse.
STEP 3
Towel blot
your strands to remove excess drippage.
Apply your favorite detangling product or
leave-in conditioning product based on your
type, texture and current condition of your
strands.
Keep in mind
that if you have fine or thin strands, you
will want to use a very light detangling
spray. For medium to thicker strands, use a
heavier conditioning product.
If you are
prone to frizz, experiment with frizz
fighting formulas like
Phytodefrisant or
John Frieda Frizz Ease that help provide
a sleeker smoother finish.
STEP 4
If
you want to go for Molly's sleek straight
style, be sure to either apply a defrisant
product like
Phytodefrisant or a straightening balm
like
Robert Hallowell's Flat Factor.
(Image of

Distribute a
dime-sized dollop of the product of your
choice into the palms of your hands and mix
well. Use your fingers to work the
product completely through your tresses.
STEP 5
Separate your
hair into 2" sections and blow dry with a
large round brush, starting near the back of
the head and working around to the front on
either side.
(Image of

Beginning at
the back of your head,
blow-dry hair in
half-inch pieces using a large round brush.
To create extra volume, hold brush in the
hair near the scalp until the hair cools
(about five seconds), then move the brush
down and through to the ends of the hair.
STEP 6
To create a
super straight finish, use a
hot flat iron
to touch up any sections that require a
smoother texture.
STEP
7
If desired,
spray lightly with the
hairspray of your
choice. Finish with a shine serum or
spray. Apply to the palms of your
hands and lightly brush across the surface
of your hair.
Optional Looks
If
you prefer to go with Molly's loose curled look as shown to the
side, follow all
of the steps above until Step 5.

Apply a
styling mousse like
Paves Professional Red Carpet Firm Hold
Styling Mousse or
Rene Furterer Anti-Dehydrating Structuring
Mousse - Strong Hold or if you prefer,
the Rene Furterer Soft Hold Mousse, and
substitute a 1 1/2" barrel curling iron for
the flat iron.
Separate
strands into small 1 to 2" sections.
Working from side to side, wrap each section
around the
hot iron. Hold for up to 30
seconds. Gently release the curling
iron and roll the hot new curl around your
fingertips and then pin against your scalp
to cool. Continue to curl and pin
until your entire head has been curled.
If you
prefer, use
medium to large sized hot rollers for a
tighter and longer lasting set.
Let pinned
curls completely cool. Before removing
the pins spray the hair liberally with a
good holding hairspray like
Paves Professional Flawless
Convertible-Proof Firm Hold Hair Spray
or
PhytoPro Instant Hold Spray #15).
For fine or thin
strands, use
Phytolaque Soie Hair Spray designed for
a softer hold.
Use your
fingertips to tousle the ends to get that
edgy look that Molly wore at the 40th Annual
Country Music Awards at the top of the page
or at The Color of M&M Party above.
If you want
to play with a variety of looks like Molly
would, experiment with different parts,
bangs and even pulling some strands behind
your ears.
