Introduction

NAHA
Carlton Hair
Irvine, California

This visually stunning short hairstyle is perfect for any Prom, special event, Wedding or similar dress up hair occasion.

The style which was created by Carlton Hair of Irvine, California and combines a sleek classic chin length Bob with expertly chipped bangs sculpted to form a circular fringe along the top of the hairline.

One side of this perfectly balanced hairstyle has a ruffle of hair designed to splay out along the side of the face and is highlighted with tiny ribbons woven with creamy white and contrasting orange dreams icle.

The very tops of the hair is splashed with similar orange highlights which radiate from the crown to the outer edges in a random pattern offsetting the snow white platinum tresses.

Partnered with a retro style Prom gown, the look is eye popping and mouth dropping.

If you wish to soften or add a dash of romance, slide on a very thin silk or satin headband or one that is embellished with tiny rosettes.  To punk up the look pop on a tiara or tiara comb like Fergie, Pink or Gwen Stefani.  Of course you can also go with a skinny crystal or glitter encrusted headband for instant shimmer.

Step By Step Instructions - Sassy Short Hair Dressy Hairstyle

Listed below are the detailed steps you should follow to recreate this spectacular Sassy Short  Dressy Hairstyles

  1. Shampoo hair with product designed for your specific type, texture and current condition of hair.

Note:  Consider using color enhancing products such as John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette, Sheer Blonde and Radiant Red shampoo, conditioner or styling formulas to punch up highlights, lowlights and make contrasting hues pop.

  2. Finish shampoo treatment with a rinse-out conditioning product designed for your hair type, texture and condition.  Skip this step if your hair is fine, thin or flatten easily.

  3. Complete the final rinse with cool/cold water rinse to close cuticles and blow open the cuticles.

  4. Towel blot hair to remove excess water and to assist styling products with easier absorption.

  5. Apply detangling spray or leave-in/detangler formula and working from the ends to the roots, carefully detangle strands.

  6. When hair is completely detangled, apply a styling cocktail that includes a mixture of leave-in conditioner and/or styling cream or mousse.  If your hair is naturally curly or wavy, you may wish to apply a straightening balm or defrisant

Note:  If your hair requires extra hold you may wish to apply a styling glaze and/or gel in addition to a leave-in product.  If you prefer lots of volume apply volume styling products.

  7. Use a blow dryer which is set on medium heat and a small boar's bristle vent, paddle or round brush.  Separate hair into 2-4 inch sections with one hand as you direct the heat "down the shaft" from the "roots to the ends" with the blow dryer to achieve the silky smooth panels of hair.

  8. Continue to work completely around your head from side to side working with individual sections until the entire head has been completely dried and straightened.

  9. Apply dab of styling cream to the dry section of hair that forms the side ruffle.  Back comb the section to get the desired "wing" formation.  If you prefer, use a wide barrel curling iron to wrap around the section for 30 seconds.  Allow the section to cool, back comb and arrange with your fingers.   If you use a curling iron be sure to use a heat protection product.

Note:  If you prefer to style this ruffle when hair is damp, apply gel, glaze or desired styling product and use brush to lift while you blow dry.

  10. If you wish to get a ultra sleek finish, run a small bed straightening iron through the hair in 2" section. Use hot iron on all sections.

  11. Finish with a shine enhancing hairspray or apply a few drops of shine serum to the palms of your hands and swipe over the top of your tresses for instant shimmer.  Remember that a little goes a long way.  Avoid adding too much shine product to avoid oiliness.
